Orchid Opened

I was really surprised this morning to see the orchid had bloomed. It was a bud one day and a flower the next time I saw it.

Lights, Wet Road

Shark Mouth

Nico Vega

Nico Vega put on the greatest live show I've personally ever seen. If there is any justice in the world, and I think there is, this band and their lead singer, Aja Volkman, will become even more than wildly famous. There can be a lot of posers (still fun) that blow through The Conservatory, but these people are authentic rock stars in every sense of the word. When she took the stage, Aja grew to about 10 times the size of her body and the band electrified the crowd immediately and never let go. I was glad to have been a part of it.

Snow again

I'd complain, but it was a beautiful big wet soft snow that fell very gently.

Horse

I have been wanting to go on campus and photograph a horse sculpture I've been driving past during the day. It was a dark rearing horse, still bound in plastic, and I just loved this strong image of bound and restrained power. I knew I didn't have long until they removed the plastic and my favorite thing about it would be gone. I've been meaning to go night after night, but it has been hard to force myself out in these frigid temps. I finally went out. I guess I hadn't seen the horse at night or they just now turned the eyes on, but now it has glowing red eyes. The Fred Jones Museum is my favorite spot on campus. I love the smooth light stone of the building and the pyramid tops to the buildings. It gives a really unique feel to the whole area.
